On September 25th, 2017, close enough to its ten year anniversary, everybody’s favorite video game movie adaptation by everybody’s favorite German director of video game movie adaptations, based on everybody’s favorite family-friendly open world urination sandbox, will be made available digitally on Steam for purchase or rent. If you’re so inclined, you can already visit its store page and wishlist it, right now!
Over a decade ago, we were approached by Uwe Boll to do a movie based on our POSTAL games. Knowing his body of work and his infamy among the general public – it was a match made in heaven! Though the finished cut of the movie is quite different from what we had originally proposed, it is a film that has cemented itself in the POSTAL world as an entertaining and sometimes quite funny take on the world of Paradise, AZ. Even everybody’s favorite internet talking head Jim Sterling had nothing but the highest praise for the film:
“It’s not altogether terrible.[..] It’s funnier than Pixels.”
-Jim Sterling
The Steam release of POSTAL The Movie will be available to stream in HD (up to 1080p) and will include a couple of special features such as director’s commentary by Uwe himself, and a featurette of Uwe infamously beating up his critics in the boxing ring. With those wonderful extras, the movie’s star-studded cast (Zack Ward, J.K. Simmons, Verne Troyer, etc.), and its non-stop barrage of jokes that might even include some genuinely funny bits, you are sure to get some entertainment out of the whole package. It throws so many things against the wall, that some of them are bound to stick! If you’ve not had a chance to see the movie yet, then make sure to check it out on Steam when it hits. If you have already seen it, then buy it on Steam anyway – support us!
If you’re wondering if you can just skip the digital crap entirely, and own a physical copy of the movie instead – you absolutely can! You can always order DVDs and Blu-Rays off our online store, for just 5 bucks a piece (not including shipping). And while you’re at it, don’t miss Zack Ward’s more recent return to the POSTAL universe with his appearance in POSTAL 2: Paradise Lost.
