Maskhead Review

Tim Wambolt Reviews The Latest Film From Toetag Pictures

I just received my Maskhead screener in the mail, thanks United States Postal Service! Even though you hate Runing With Scissors I thank you for making sure I receive my snuff, come rain, sleet, hail or your crybaby tears!

Sorry, back to my Maskhead review: The S&M Girls (Syl and Maddie) audition various amateur porn stars for a role in their latest production, Maskhead. Little do these porn stars know they will actually be victims in a snuff movie, murdered on film by a mute, towering maniac, covered in burns and scars, wrapped in bandages and wearing a mask made of leather straps and spikes. (Maskhead is played by my internet buddy Michael Witherel, fyi! "Lol Tim has to turn on the internet just to hang out with friends! Haha what a penis-fingering scrotum slurper!") Anyways, these three killers are assisted by a fist fucking, tranny fucking, bi-sexual cowboy who rapes people and then brings them to Maskhead to be butchered in front of the camera. The film switches back and forth between a cinematic view and the perspective view of Syl and Maddie's camcorder, giving the film an August Underground feel during the murder scenes.

As the cameras roll Maskhead straps his first victim into a chair and electrocutes him with jumper cables until his eyes are bleeding. The next victim is dowsed in gasoline and smashed in the head with a hammer. After that we see Maskhead strangle a girl to death and stab another girl in the throat with a large knife. The murders pause temporarily as the killers generously treat us to a full episode of their Maskhead production. In the episode, Maskhead straps a girl down and stabs her multiple times in the chest, then beats her co-star and makes him eat human shit!

After the episode ends we are treated to a homosexual, elbow deep fist fuck session ending with Maskhead breaking the victim's forearm backwards with a hammer and stapling his testacles to his chair before snapping his neck.

Which brings us to the notorious Clown Girl, who's audition is cut short when she is wrapped in plastic and pissed on! The acting in this movie is believable but Clown Girl truly acted horrified as the killers stab her in the cheek and cut her forearms in half with a machete, drenching the ground with blood. Yes once again, master effects wizard Jerami Cruise takes us to hell and back!

Those of you expecting nothing but violence out of this film will be surprised by how different Maskhead is from any other film; you never know where the story is going to go or what is going to happen next. An unexpectedly hilarious beginning tricks you into believing that Maskhead will be a comedy, delivering funny lines like: "Ambition: the thing that builds empires and kills off entire races of people." And then, similar to August Underground's Mordum, the disturbing factor just keeps building up, getting worse and worse until the film has gone too far!

Maskhead is a trashy comedy that could at any second become a sexploiation film, a gay porno, a slasher movie, a disturbing snuff film or who knows what! And that is the fun of it! The story was written by Scott Swan, the mastermind behind the classic Masters of Horror episode Cigarette Burns, a must-see for fans of his work! And definitely a must own for gorehounds and Toetag fans!

And lastly, I have to say, the final scene of the movie definitely tops my list of the top 10 most gruesome weapon rape scenes in cinematic history!
