Yeah, bad pun for a title but still gets to the horrible fucking point. That point is that leaked pictures of the functioning Wii-U tablet have surfaced and I am really not for this whole idea. I don't need another tablet to make my life complete.
I don't give a shit about what quirky titles Nintendo comes out with next. They can be as innovative as they want with hardware, but if you don't have the games to back it up, then it's all in vein. I really wanted to see some really cool stuff for the old Wii, and I get some flashes in the pan. Manhunt 2, wasn't really that bad and neither was Madworld.
It seems that they don't care about the gamers who have grown up playing their systems. I don't need Mario to blow Princess Peach, but at this point I want to see something more. More than a handful of mature titles for their systems, most of which are either ok or bad. House Of The Dead Overkill, was unique but it's one title against the flood of shovelware they have promoted for the Wii.
Let's face it, if I were to blind fold you and have you randomly pick a Wii title, do you honestly think you will pull something playable?
Chances are, you will pull some piece of shit that is barely playable. So why do you need new hardware, when you can't make good games?
I think this is a case of a moderate looking girl, hanging out with ugly chicks, in order to make themselves appear more attractive. Yeah, Nintendo's house titles look great against all the other shit that's been released since this last system launch. Honestly, most people I know who own a Wii have either A. returned it for something else or B. it's collecting dust because of all of the flaws.
The biggest flaw being is not catering to internet gameplay. This is a company that fucking revolutionized internet and network gameplay to just throw it out the window. Do some research and you will find that the original NES was designed to have a modem and the SNES had a satellite radio service for it to deliver content. So how in hell can you be like, "We have the technology now, but fuck that."
The Wii-U may have more expansive controlls and internet functionality but I still think it will be behind the 8-ball come the next generation. Nintendo, will eventually pull a Sega and out wear there welcome. I miss Sega, they had some revolutionary idea that just didn't pan out. I wouldn't mind seeing them put another system out but Nintendo has a lack of true vision.
Yes, people love playing games on their tablets and smart phones. Yes, the Android and Iphone marketplace are increasing in usage and sales. This isn't a reason to start backing down on true innovation, now is the time to go really big. The biggest thing they could do is to look at some indie hardware developers.
I have seen a number of really awesome controller setups designed recently on Kickstarter. One of them was the Makey Makey, which allows you to make a controller ot of anything. You can basically alligator clip anything and assign keyboard placement to it. It's an easy user interface and also allows the user to be more imaginative.
I would rather see that, than a fuck tablet. I occasionally phone in an article but to phone in an entire gaming system? That's kind of like jacking off in a mirror and expecting your dog to lick it up. I have been pissed at Nintendo for awile but this really never ceases to amaze me.
What kind of mindless jackoffs do they think we are?
No one needs a new tablet, what we need to do is to really bear down and create with some balls. Let me have Nintendo for 72 hours, fuck that, let me be CEO for just 12 and you would see some shit happen. First thing I would do, open source. Second thing I would do, fire the R&D department.
I would walk down, whip out my big ol American grown dick, and tell them to go home. If you have no better idea than a tablet, then you should probably not be working in R&D at a video game company. The third and final thing I would do, is go to the farm teams and geat some real talent.
Independent companies right now have some of the best and original talent on earth. Why they aren't truely tapping into this demographic, I don't know. Really, if they want to survive and thrive, they need to be more daring than Sony and Microsoft. I don't see this happening anytime soon.
