Ugh! So much shit (literally and metaphorically) in Facebook!

That's why I don't use them. It's for people who are showing their shits (literally and/or metaphorically) to each other, and giving shit also.(literally and/or metaphorically)

Might as well I could call it "shitbook", or "fecebook". Sums it all up. :)

I tried to like the new start menu, so far I don't dig it, even on a touch based device. I like synergy across platforms, right now I used Android for phone, and Google's services like Gmail, Drive, Calendar ect.  I'd actually kinda like to have it all Windows based as I will always need Windows for various programs, and having a x86 based tablet I could run them all on would be sweet. But I'm less than convinced with Windows 8 so far, Windows phone ect, so I'll not be making the jump anytime soon.

Maybe Windows 9 or the coming 'blue' add-on packs will tempt me away.

So far all games I've tried work as well on 8 as 7, including (thankfully) P1 and P2.

Those tiles work when you have a touch screen. Many case when I see tiles in laptops with Win8 I have a compulsion to touch them, but they don't work that way because there's no touch sensors. Some desktops have touch screens, so Win8 is ideal on these.

The most difficult thing about these 'apps' or 'tiles' is, everytime you launch them, it pushes you away from the desktop. You have to reach back the desktop after you are done with the app, or you have something else to do in the meantime, like answering emails.

Other than that, the Win8 is surprisingly stable. I expected a BSOD, but didn't get any (knocks on wood) when I get that upgrade from a very old laptop which bought in 2009.

I might get myself a Lumia soon, but I heard a lot of not so good reviews all over. The newer Lumias are with dual-cores and more RAM, so these might change.

I liked OpenOffice but the thing about the formatting, the margins and stuff are not easy to handle, unlike Word series. They kept running a lot away! Plus, I'm too used to the Math toolbox on the Word, it would be much tougher to do it on OpenOffice since I had to key in equations and stuff. :)

I never tried it. Reason is simple: my notebook has shitty graphics adapter inside.

I have another desktop but I just refused to install W8 inside due to the amount of software I have to reactivate again and have anxiety whether my graphics card will work in W8 or not. Not gonna try it though.  :)

I don't think N Korea has missiles capable of hitting the US, but if I'm wrong, I'll be moving to Mexico where $1 US= 12 Pesos!

If it isn't for USA, it's for the USA's allies - Japan and S.Korea. The radius for these missles reaching America are only up to Alaska, anything to San-Fran or to Texas are exaggerating.

Guessed the millitary in N.Korea are still feeling that ronery.

I think the most worrying part of North Korea is their hatred of Japan (first), and USA. The Japan one, probably due to the WW2 one, and the USA was, the same old "capitalism" idea. South Korea and Japan are having the highest risk because the missiles are in range.

Not to mention, these things extend to SE Asia as well. Or they are speculating.

POSTAL General / Re: What if Postal was made for the Atari 2600?
« on: April 13, 2013, 08:55:32 PM »
No kidding, I would actually make one if I got my hands on the Atari Video chip (known as TIA - Television Interface Adapter) with a suitable microprocessor. Plus with some ROM chips thrown inside and my collection of electronic tools (I was an engineering student, and now a postgraduate almost done), this would work.

Apart from the nerd talk, yeah, it's do-able. Since the Atari 2600 is graphically limited, with my limited drawing skills, it would be easy. For the NES, it could be harder.  :)

POSTAL General / Re: Rebuild of Postal

I noticed one thing in that website - which contains a lot of errors and inconsistencies.

One of them is : "Rebuild of Postal".

Shouldn't it be "Remake of Postal 3" or something?

Plus... "Final Part of Trilogy"?? This is confusing. That's not even final!  :)

Games / Re: EA won "Worst company in the United States" contest again
« on: April 11, 2013, 01:07:46 AM »
They (EA) deserved it. There are a lot of pretentious advertising done by EA on some games like Ass Effect 3, and they now managed to ruin Simcity as well.

They (EA) should fix all these mess and stop thinking they are too good for everyone.  :)
