I think you mean the screen shots I showed ya a while back where I quickly did up some rooms as an example. These simply have more models put in, nothing has been done to the lighting, shader effects or room layouts that would push things further:

I'd love to do this still, go over the entire of POSTAL 2 and improve how it looks as far as the engine will allow, but I can't really justify the time right now.  Before P2 hit Steam, me and the guys over at res-studios.net were considering a kickstarter to raise a modest amount to help pay us a bit for it (the patch itself would be released free on Steam if it ever came to pass).

And before someone says it, we won't be remaking POSTAL 2 on a newer engine, purely because at that point the work involved would be so much, that if we could fund that we could fund a real third POSTAL , which would be the better option.  Touching up the original P2 is much more likely at this point.

Don't make it too shiny or you'll ruin the atmosphere.

It would also be optional.. not like we're gonna force update.

A patch that improves visuals greatly. something we have talked about,and even started on a fair amount..can't say for 100% if it'll get done..some projects start,and fail due to lack of funding,interest,help,what ever the case may be..in this case,for the moment it's just on hold.. steam interrupted it,and is priority for now..

There is really no good answer here..I'll try tho (give a little info at least). basically it comes down to weapon coder,and a few .ini settings in 1409X/XL. I actually don't pay much attention to weapon code for bots..because no matter what,the bots are gonna suck.. which answers the next few questions..

Basically the bots,and/or weapons would need better coding.. only thing you can adjust without extending,or rewriting code..would be how aggressive they are..(that basically turns 'em into aimbots) they don't really play better as far as strafing,jumping,thinking,etc...

I know I can edit it through the settings, but I don't think every person who likes to play with a controller would want to edit it.  You know what I mean they just want to get in and play, and I know if I were a dummy and didnt know any thing i would just be like "this game sucks i cant even use my controller what the hell."

Yeah,but there is no one solution. the settings you suggest wouldn't work for me,and possibly others..vice versa.. not to mention certain settings on M$ controllers goof up the also popular logitech controllers.. believe me.. we tested them..
:P Thinking on it..I've NEVER played a game that was 100% perfect controller wise on a PC.

You can change/assign the buttons you want from in game option menu,or via user.ini.

Seems like there might be someone working on trying to get the 360 pad working better tho.. not sure if that was abandoned ,or not tbh..

It's worthless on any server that needs queries.. it's only good for planned matches.. I don't even use it myself.. basically stubbed out flaw,but causes new ones..lol

we have a fix for that actually,but it's buggy as all fuck.. tell goodoff to hit me up..we can at least protect your matches..it pretty much fucks a lot of the query options tho.(query being the flaw exploited).

it's a losing battle,and most of us that cared to fight it,have long give in..

truth is I could prolly stop CE dead in it's tracks(make it worthless),but I just can't find the motivation to rewrite nearly all the Character code to do so..as far as strait up aimbots.. only thing that will stop that is VAC like file scanner.. however,it will have it's own host of issues.. and then there is yet another way,that cannot be stopped.. not to mention the other little problem MP is having.. losing battle m8.

(assuming you're talking about the cheat talk) I have a hard time understanding your post sometimes. :P

Be grateful for this fantastic multiplayer that you have not tried yet surely? I do not need Postal 4! The money that comes in now, should be applied carefully so that the fucking servers are still running in 30 years, when I go into retirement. I have calculated exactly the Metascore: Postal 2 increases steadily. I still do not know how hot it is, but it is cool! Once "Postal Complete" is marketed properly and a master community over 100 active players in multiplayer can be seen, then I will also have POSTAL IV.

We've been wrestling with the thought of DLC for postal 2 a lot lately.. even started a project,but it's on hold for now.. our issue is "what's worth selling?"  we don't want to throw out crap DLC like some games do.. (4 Characters for $5,or one shitty level for $5 - $2.50 on sale.) .. maybe we should start a topic on this.. (what DLC,if any would you like to see?) Gametypes,HD Updates,Weapon/Character Packs,New Task/Levels,etc..

well.. you can convert the cache.. there are some tools available for Unreal Tournament that work for postal,but I always open  cache.ini (never need more than a few files) there will be a bunch of numbers like this "3BC75B2E11DEFEE923009EA1541D3554=1409Xtras.u"  in the cache folder there will be a file like "3BC75B2E11DEFEE923009EA1541D3554.uxx" to match those numbers.. simply rename it to 1409Xtras.u place it in correct folder,clear that line from cache.ini & done.. however 90% of the I wouldn't recommend "cache rape".. you're better off finding Orig download,or site that host it,ask server admin,etc.. some servers have content they'd prefer to be exclusive,or is in beta stage,etc,etc..also most mods,maps have read me files that say where files should be,or if they require extra files..

Because that content is placed in a cache..most mods have .ini / .int settings that do not get pushed online as well,so best to find the mod (if it's released),and install it using "read me" instructions..

Path Nodes are easy..in editor, just right click & place path node.. where ever you want bots to go..
