I have used both makes of cards, from a Nvidia in a old POS comp. to spruce it up a bit, to my main computer which came with a ATI card, and i have since upgraded with another ATI product, from what i have seen in some comparos (tests) the Nvidia tends to edge SLIGHTLY in SOME areas of testing over ATI, but over all the difference is marginal at best.
As some have mentioned, watch for discounts and promo game bundling, but for the most part, i think the ATI cards are a better value over all, Sapphire ATI is the brand i have been going to .
