Gaming Is Not A Crime!

Running With Scissors is pleased to see that our name and the POSTAL games were not generally mentioned in any of the many recent outcries against the treatment of women in video games. That leaves us to believe that our carefully controlled and cloud soft handling of the ladies is more along the line of what is acceptable to our feminist friends. We are more than happy to oblige of course. Our man the “DUDE” will always defend his POSTAL Babes to the death.

A recent scandal nicknamed Gamergate, concerning real life Zoe Quinn and her ex-boyfriend has brought the question of ethical journalism into the limelight. It was suggested that Ms. Quinn was publicly accused by her boyfriend of sleeping with five people. At least one was purported to help finance a game she created and one was Nathan Grayson of a very popular gaming media Kotaku.com supposedly to gain publicity for her video game. Who really knows what happened except the participants th...

POSTAL 2's Overwhelmingly Positive Super Celebration Sale!

Wow! We are still excited and can hardly believe the tremendous reception we received via the Overwhelmingly Positive review rating on Steam. We are now actually up to 96% positive at the time this was written and we would love that to go even higher. We know many of you out there with your physical copies or otherwise non-Steam copies would love to help us reach for the moon and push that as close to 100% positive as we can get but are unsure of what to do. We realize you probably won’t want to buy it again on Steam just for the sake of doing so or maybe you are waiting for PARADISE LOST to be released before getting around to picking up POSTAL 2 on Steam. Whatever the reason you have for not owning it yet on Steam, now is the perfect time to change that! To show our appreciation to our loyal fans, for the next week POSTAL 2 is on sale for the lowest price it has ever been. EIGHTY PERCENT OFF! That’s right 80% off on the Humble Widget below! For those of you in North A...

The People have Spoken!

“Until someone boxes up syphilis POSTAL 2 is the worst product ever” – Robert Coffey – Computer Gaming World – July 2003

The line above may seem a little familiar as we have it proudly displayed on the cover of the Fudge Pack. Computer Gaming World gave us a ZERO out of 10. Shocking! No not really. There is actually a kind of feeble but sort of understandable reason for the bad reviews. Generally the “Professional Reviewers” and critics pan POSTAL 2 because they don’t want to look bad for liking it. We get it. They need to keep up appearances that they only like games that are family friendly, educational and/or mind numbingly boring. POSTAL 2 didn’t fit in to their nice cookie cutter world and therefore was discarded as bad. There was no way we were going to let a little gloom and doom from the nay sayers hold us back. Quite obviously none of these negative reviews had any effect on our loyal fans. We at Running With Scissors are practically speechless and more than deli...

Poll: Crowdfunding

It’s been a while since we ran a poll so we thought it might be fun to try a new one out. I bet you don’t even remember the last poll we ran because I sure don’t. We are going to make it an easy but interesting one. This poll is to ask the question “What’s your opinion on Crowdfunding and/or paid Early Access?” No, this isn’t us asking you if we should Crowdfund anything. We have no intentions of doing that right now, as stated before this is just for fun. Back in the good old days, games were Alpha tested by the Developer. Sometimes they would release a closed then perhaps an open beta that let players get a taste of the game while reporting bugs. Generally this little bit of game play was free but once the game was released the Beta access was rescinded. Now we have Steam Early Access (and similar programs) that let the Developer actually work on their games while pre-selling it to their fans. The fans pay for the privilege of watching the game grow and experiencing all the fun of encountering and reporting...
